What Zit Zapper™ is used for

This cosmetic product is used to:

• Assist in the management and relief of the appearance of pimples and blemishes.

• Provide an anti-bacterial activity on pimples.

• Exert an anti-inflammatory action which helps relieve the inflammation associated with pimples.

• Act as an astringent which assists recovery of skin injures.

• Smooth and calm skin.

• Cleanse the affected area.

Pimples occur as a result of the obstruction and inflammation of hair follicles and their accompanying sebaceous gland with sebum (oil) and dead skin cells. Once blocked, they can become infected with bacteria that normally live on the surface of the skin. The lesion that is caused as a result of infection may differ depending on whether the bacterium stimulates inflammation in the follicle or not. The most common trigger of pimples is puberty, when surges in androgen (male hormones) stimulate oil production and an increase in skin production. Other triggers include hormonal changes that occur with pregnancy or throughout the menstrual cycle; cosmetics, cleansing agents, and clothing; and humidity and sweating.

Although overall health is not impaired, pimples are not trivial; they can produce physical and emotional scarring that last a lifetime.

Mandatory cautions

Keep away from eyes. Keep away from children. Stop using this product if it disagrees with you.

Standard cautions

Prior to use, patch test on a small section of the treatment area and wait 24 hours. Discontinue use if allergic reaction or irritation occurs. Avoid eyes, mouth, inflamed, sun burnt or broken skin. For external use only.

When you must not use it

Do not use Zit Zapper™ if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients listed below.

Some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction may include:

• Redness of skin

• Rash, itching or hives on the or skin

• Burning sensation of the skin

If you experience an allergic reaction or irritation, discontinue use.

If you are not sure whether you should start using this cosmetic product, talk to your healthcare professional.

How to use Zit Zapper™

Follow all directions listed on package and insert. If you do not understand the instructions on the box, ask your healthcare professional for help.

Directions

Apply to affected areas twice daily - in the morning and before bedtime.

How long to use it

There is no known limit as to how long this cosmetic product may be used for. If you are concerned about the length of time that you have been using it, consult your healthcare practitioner.

If you forget to use it

If it is less than 4 hours before your next application, skip the application you missed and apply it when you are next meant to. Otherwise, apply it as soon as you remember, and then go back to applying this cosmetic product as you would normally. If you are not sure what to do, ask your healthcare professional.

If you use too much

There is generally no problem if you use more than is directed of this cosmetic product however it is not necessary.

While you are using Zit Zapper™

Things you must do

There is no need to let your health professional know that you are using this cosmetic product as it does not interact with any medications you may be on or any other conditions you may have. If you develop an allergic reaction or irritation which you suspect is being caused by this cosmetic product, make sure you let your healthcare professional know that you are using it.

Things that would be helpful to improve the health of your skin:

• Smoking - The most important thing you can do to protect your skin is to stop smoking -or better yet - never start. Smoking can cause premature aging and yellowing of the skin. The tobacco smoke released into the air dries out your skin and the smoke you inhale constricts blood vessels, and therefore, restricts the amount of blood flowing to the skin, robbing your skin of essential nutrients.

• Drink Plenty of Water - This aids in the elimination of wastes and toxins from the skin. Adults need at least 1.5 litres of water a day.

• Sleep - Get enough of it. Skin renewal occurs when you sleep, therefore by restricting sleep skin renewal also becomes reduced. Tiredness deprives the skin of the energy needed to recover and regenerate.

• De-stress - Frowning causes worry lines and constant stress emits negative energy to the skin. For stress-relief, treat yourself to yoga classes, massages, or even a leisurely spa session. For a quick fix, try lying down face up, close your eyes, and feel the muscles in your face relax. Do this for 60 seconds every time you feel the tension in your facial muscles.

• Sun protection - Protect your skin from the harmful effects of sun exposure. Avoid being out during peak sun times, wear a hat, wear sunglasses, and be generous with moisturizers with an SPF of 15 or higher on exposed areas.

• Diet - Your outside reflects what’s inside. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

• Exercise - Exercise is good for your whole body, but particularly for your skin. Exercise can help improve skin tone and maintain elasticity. Exercise can also increase the blood flow to your skin and give it a healthy glow.

It is not expected that the use of this cosmetic product will cause any side effects. There is a possibility that you may experience an allergic reaction or irritation; please refer to section “Before you use Zit Zapper™”.

After using Zit Zapper™

Storage

Keep the applicator in a place where the temperature stays below 30*C. Ensure that you keep the applicator out of the reach of children.
