What Photo Age Reverse™ serum is used for

This cosmetic product is used to:

* Reverse years of visible premature ageing including wrinkles, sun spots and imperfections (average reversal of 2.4 years of ageing in 6 months).

* Help protect the skin from visible skin ageing caused by UV and environmental damage (average protection of ageing of 2.8 years in 6 months).

* Help slow UV induced skin ageing, preserving the youthfulness of the skin.

* Improve the overall visible appearance of the skin by making it more moisturised, firmer and smoother, well nourished and attractive, helping the signs of ageing to become less noticeable.

Before you use Photo Age Reverse™ Cream

Standard cautions

Prior to use, patch test on a small section of the treatment area and wait 24 hours. Discontinue use if allergic reaction or irritation occurs. Avoid eyes, mouth, inflamed, sun burnt or broken skin. For external use only.

When you must not use it

Do not use Photo Age Reverse™ Serum if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients listed below.

How to use Photo Age Reverse™ Serum

Follow all directions listed on the carton and insert. If you do not understand the instructions on the carton, ask your healthcare professional for help.

Directions

After cleansing and toning, gently massage a small amount of cream over face and neck each night.

Use with Photo Age Reverse™ Cream during the day for maximum results.

How long to use it

There is no known limit as to how long this cosmetic product may be used for. If you are concerned about the length of time that you have been using it, consult your healthcare practitioner.

If you forget to use it

If it is less than 4 hours before your next application, skip the application you missed and apply it when you are next meant to. Otherwise, apply it as soon as you remember, and then go back to applying your cosmetic product as you would normally. If you are not sure what to do, ask your healthcare professional.

If you use too much

There is generally no problem if you use more than is directed of this cosmetic product however it is not necessary.

Things you must do

There is no need to let your health professional know that you are using this cosmetic as it does not interact with any medications you may be on or any other conditions you may have. If you develop an allergic reaction or irritation which you suspect is being caused by this cosmetic product, make sure you let your healthcare professional know that you are using it.

Things that would be helpful to improve the health of your skin:

* Good eating habits - Your outside reflects what’s inside. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet including foods that are particularly rich in nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. These include fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds and fish. Protein intake is also very important and can be obtained through fish, meat, poultry, dairy products, eggs etc.

* Smoking - The most important thing you can do to protect your skin is to stop smoking, or better yet, never start. It is well known that smoking depletes your body of vitamins and minerals which are essential for healthy skin growth. Smoking also causes premature ageing, drying and yellowing of the skin.

* Drink Plenty of Water - This aids in the elimination of wastes and toxins from the skin. Adults need at least 1.5 litres of water a day.

* Sleep Get enough of it. Skin renewal occurs when you sleep, therefore by restricting sleep skin renewal also becomes reduced. Tiredness deprives the skin of the energy needed to recover and regenerate.

* De-stress - Frowning causes worry lines and constant stress emits negative energy to the skin. For stress-relief, treat yourself to yoga classes, massages, or even a leisurely spa session. For a quick fix, try lying down face up, close your eyes, and feel the muscles in your face relax. Do this for 60 seconds every time you feel the tension in your facial muscles.

* Sun protection Protect your skin from the harmful effects of sun exposure. UV exposure has been shown to promote the production of free radicals in the skin which encourage damage and accelerates ageing. Avoid being out during peak sun times, wear a hat, wear sunglasses, and be generous with moisturizers with an SPF of 15 or higher on exposed areas.

* Exercise - is good for your whole body, but particularly for your skin. Exercise can help improve skin tone and maintain elasticity. Exercise can also increase the blood flow to your skin and give it a healthy glow.

How does Photo Age Reverse™ work?

Photo Age Reverse™ Serum contains VenuceaneTM which is obtained from the fermentation of the bacterium Thermus thermophilus. VenuceaneTM possesses activity that mimics the anti-free radical (anti-oxidant) protective enzymes found naturally in the skin such as SOD, catalase and glutathione peroxidase. By neutralising the excessive free radicals formed by UV exposure, the integrity of the skin is ensured.

Not only was VenuceaneTM shown to help to preserve the youthfulness of the skin through its anti-free radical (anti-oxidant) action, during testing it was also seen to reverse key signs of ageing such as imperfections (irregularity of the grain of the skin and superficial capillaries), wrinkles, freckles (lentigines) and UV-induced spots (such as sun and age spots).

How was UV- induced skin ageing measured in the scientific studies on VenuceaneTM?

The major scientific study which demonstrated the promising effect of VenuceaneTM was carried out over a 6-month period in a tropical climate (the island of Mauritius) on a panel of 54 volunteers, all of which were not used to being exposed to a tropical climate or permanent sunshine. The primary objective was to measure accelerated ageing due to extreme UV exposure comparing protected skin (skin which was treated with VenuceaneTM) and unprotected skin (skin which placebo treatment was applied).

The quality of the subjects’ skin and parameters associated with ageing (imperfections wrinkles, freckles (lentigines) and UV-induced spots) were measured by various means such as physical examination by a dermatologist, using the VISIA® system, Tewameter ® and D-SQUAME® system.
