What is SAM-e?
SAM-e is not a vitamin, mineral or a herb. It’s a molecule that all living cells, including human cells, constantly produce. Our bodies make SAM-e by combining an essential amino acid called methionine (found in fish, meat and dairy product) and adenine triphosphate (a molecule important for energy production). SAM-e is responsible for a very important biological process called methylation. Methylation occurs a billion times per second in your body affecting everything from cell function to liver function to brain function. Life would not exist without methylation. Methylation, simply put, is when one molecule donates a molecular branch - containing one carbon and three hydrogen atoms known as a methyl group - to another molecule. And SAM-e is the bodie’s most important and most active methyl group donor.

How does it work?
Our mood is regulated by chemical messengers in the brain known as neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are responsible for communications between neurones (brain cells). These neurotransmitters travel from one neuron and attached themselves to receptor molecules in other neurones triggering a chemical reaction. The brain needs to maintain a certain level of the neurotransmitters L-dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine.

Many cases of low mood can occur when the levels of these neurotransmitters drop dramatically.

SAM-e is thought to encourage brain cells to be more responsive to the neurotransmitters helping support a positive outlook and assist emotional well being.

(Equiv. (s)-s-adenosylmethionine (SAM-e) 208mg
Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) 10mg
Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 50mcg
Folic Acid

Directions
Take tablets on an empty stomach or as directed by your health care professional. MoodLift with 200mg of enteric coated SAM-e with Vitamin B6, B12 and Folic Acid is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate low mood states.

Optimal dosage:
Commence with one table twice daily for seven days and increase to two tables twice daily if no symptomatic improvement.

Cautions
SAM-e is well suited to long term use and It has no significant adverse side-effects except for the occasional nausea or gastrointestinal upset, mild headaches and dizziness. Should not be taken if pregnant or lactating. Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare professional. Vitamins can only be of assistance if the dietary vitamin intake is inadequate. Keep out of reach of children.

Individuals who are using anti depressants or suffer bi polar should not use this product.
